My Cars
Call me a big kid but I love cars. The faster the better. You’d think I would have grown out of all that but no!
I’ve never really liked big cars and I don’t go for comfort over speed.
I think a soft top (convertible) should be a two seater not some whale on wheels. I’m sure some of you will disagree.
There should be no compromise.
A sports car should be a sports car and a saloon a saloon. Not something trying to be all things to all men (or women).
Porsche should stick to what they do best and throw away that monstrosity they built to capitalise on the 4 x 4 boom.
Ferrari should stick to red and Lamborghini should only use those ridiculous lurid greens!
A car should arouse the passion – it’s not just about getting from A to B.
To steal the words of the great Danny Blanchflower (Tottenham Hotspur footballer from ’50s & 60′s): -
“Football is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom”
I see cars in the same light. Getting there in style not boredom!
I ought to start my own “cool wall” – I may do when I have time – but for now here are the few car makers that I think put passion into their cars but are reachable for non multi-millionaires:-
